Accessibility
MADOCS’ commitment to making this site usable by every visitor.
Our commitment
MADOCS wants information about the society, its courses and membership to be accessible to everyone — including screen-reader users, keyboard users, and people reading on a phone with large text. We use the WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines as our target, and improve the site in stages. WCAG 2.2 level AA as our target, and
What we have done
- A well-ordered heading structure and alternative text for every image.
- A “skip to main content” link on every page and clear keyboard focus states.
- Text is at least 12px (most body text 15–17px) with high colour contrast.
- All motion (page transitions, scroll animations) is switched off automatically when a visitor’s device is set to “reduce motion”.
- A bilingual site (Malay and English) with a language switcher on every page.
- Touch targets of at least 44px for the main buttons and links on phones.
What is still not perfect
- Some images are still illustration images (labelled "Illustration image") while awaiting real photographs
- Content that is not ready yet (figures, committee list, Resource Centre materials) is shown as “In preparation” — we deliberately do not fill those spaces with sample text.
- File downloads (PDF) in the Resource Centre have not yet been tested with screen readers for all PDF readers.
